It was my pleasure to get to know Michael recently. He shared stories of his family, especially a grandson in the armed forces, and fiercely loved you all. Truyde loved to garden and was meticulous in the care of her yard.
Michael James Granbois, 82
Mike was raised in Safe Harbor Village ; the family farm in Buck, PA; and the city of Lancaster. He graduated from Bordentown Military Institute in 1959 and was a member of the wrestling and rifle teams. Marilyn S. Wissler, 85 of Milton, DE and formerly of Lancaster PA passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday Dec 15, 2022. Born on October 30, 1937, to the late Lawrence N. Schilling and Edythe Schilling. Ken grew up in Elmore, OH and graduated from Woodmore High School 1969. He went on to study at University of Toledo, earning a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Transport.
He worked as a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Villanova University for 42 years. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and served a term as Vice President. He was a beloved member of the faculty and a favorite among his students. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to Springdell Baptist Church, 1420 Springdell Church Road, Lancaster, SC 29720. She was born Oct. 31, 1929, a daughter of the late Harvey Barfield and Hortense Threatt Barfield.

She was an active member of the Lancaster County Philatelic Society and was an avid stamp collector. She enjoyed stamp collecting for many years and would even donate stamps to the North Museum to support children who wanted to pursue the hobby. I knew Mike when I worked at Donnelley in the 80’s. Hardworking, kind to others and had such a great sense of humor. A graduate of Millersville State College Marilyn taught Special Education for the Lancaster City School District and retired after 30 years. After retiring, Marilyn and her late husband Mervin Wissler moved to Milton DE. During their lives, they both enjoyed traveling, visiting numerous states and countries, one of their favorites being Montego Bay, Jamaica.
She was the wife for 49 years of Thomas "Pat" Learn who preceded her in death in October 2002. Marjorie was the daughter of the late James G. Frost and Pearl Eroh Frost of Moosic, PA and a graduate of Moses-Taylor High School. Mrs. Ghent enjoyed watching birds and working in her yard. Our deepest sympathies for family and all that knew this unique, stylish, independent lady. Our neighbor for 8 years, Charlotte was always a lively participant of every gathering with a wonderful sense of humor and wonderful wit. Charlotte approached her illness with dignity and common sense reality. Charlotte shall be deeply and dearly missed by all!

He met his wife of 55 years, Virginia Lee , in 1966 and married her soon thereafter. In April of 1967, Michael began his lifetime career in the printing industry, working for R.R. Donnelley & Sons as a pressman for 35 years until his retirement in 2002. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and especially enjoyed Sunday dinners with his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hiking, and hunting.
